Amy Chu is currently writing Dynamite Entertainment's ongoing series Red Sonja, and she is the first woman to write Dynamite's KISS, a series with iconic characters that has been around since the 70's and the modern Green Hornet run. But, Chu is not new to breaking ground in comics - in 2016 Chu wrote Poison Ivy's first ever mini-series for DC Comics, where Poison Ivy returns to her origins as a working scientist. This past year, Amy Chu also penned Amazing Ant-Man and Deadpool stories for Marvel. During her career, Chu has written X-Files Deviations featuring a Scully/Samantha Mulder teamup, DC Sensation Comics Wonder Woman, Image Comics CBLDF Liberty Annual, the DC Comics Vertigo Quarterly CMYK, and an issue of Valiant's X-O Manowar. Chu's works include DOTA: Dragon's Blood (Netflix Original Series), Rick & Morty Hericktics of Rick (Jan 2022) Aero (Marvel), Sword Master, Betty & Veronica Meet Vampirella & Red Sonja, DMC (Darryl Makes Comics). She is also the author of the graphic novel Sea Sirens and Sky Island (Viking Childrens Press) with Janet K Lee.
Chu is also a co-founder of Alpha Girl Comics and publisher of Girls Night Out, the VIP Room, and Meridien City.
Despite her busy schedule, Amy Chu makes time to write and produce comics for nonprofits, including the New York Historical Society, Baltimore Museum of Art, Pop Culture Classroom, and the Museum of Chinese in Americas. We aren't sure how she makes time for it, but she also teaches writing at the Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art in Dover NJ and works for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
She is a frequent speaker/panel moderator/guest at conventions including San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, Heroes Con, Baltimore Comic Con, Emerald City Comic Con, and Fan Expo.
