Kristen Gudsnuk self published the first five issues of her comic series Henchgirl, until Scout Comics picked up the series. In the series, the lead character Mary Posa hates her job, because she "works long hours for little pay, no insurance, and, worst of all, no respect. Her coworkers are jerks and her boss doesn't appreciate her. He's also happens to be a supervillain. Cursed with a conscience, Mary would give anything to be something other than a Henchgirl!" Due to the success of Gudsnuk's original series, Henchgirl is currently being developed into a TV show. Gudsnuk also teamed up with IDW to write several Strawberry Shortcake issues. And, her artwork is featured in The Secret Loves of Geek Girls, a Kickstarter funded anthology of nonfiction comics and prose.
