Steve Orlando has written for every major comic publisher, churning out mini-series and longer arcs on smaller characters like Midnighter as well as icons like Batman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and the Justice League.
Orlando started to get recognized for his work on the Outlaw Territory Anthology, which was nominated for both Eisner and Harvey awards. He expanded his short short writing to DC/Vertigo, where he contributed to both the Mystery in Space and CMYK: Yellow anthologies. In 2014, Orlando published first longform work, Undertow, for Image Comics and by 2015 he launched the DC Comics series Midnighter, which was named one of the "20 Best Comics of 2015" and "Best Portrayal of a Gay Superhero in Mainstream Comics" by io9. His success led to a follow up arc, Midnighter and Apollo as well as his work for the DC Rebirth initiative: Batman and Robin Eternal and Supergirl.
While his credits are too numerous to list, Orlando guest wrote Wonder Woman after G. Willow Wilson's arc and launched the Martian Manhunter maxi-series for DC, both of which received critical acclaim. He also wrote thirteen issues of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers for Boom Studios and Commanders in Crisis for Image Comics.
Orlando has won the GLADD Media Award for Midnighter/Midnighter and Apollo and an Eisner and Harvey for Outlaw Territory.
